Polarization, mass shootings, BLM, Antifa, Covid (and now monkeypox), purple haired kids castrating themselves, “experts” predicting another pandemic soon, the US dollar is worthless, gas prices, baby formula, food shortages coming…for real is it time to stockpile ammo, water and disaster food kits? I have never felt like this and I’m 43.  I have always felt optimism about the future of the country until very recently.  I think we are done.

There are various situations coming to a head in America at the same time, such that pretty much the only thing that will solve them is a civil war.

It is VERY important to understand, our country was founded by three basic groups of people: religious dissenters (especially in New England), transported criminals (especially in the southern colonies) and profiteers (including many of the Founding Fathers). Except for the slaves, that founding population were almost all white Europeans, largely but not exclusively from the British Isles, and they brought their class system with them. That should tell you much about why the USA is the way it is today, especially on the conservative side of politics.

The Puritan vision, as exemplified by the Massachusetts Bay Colony, was a country for themselves alone as straight white male-dominated Christians. That lasted several decades in the 1600s until their theocracy executed too many "witches", Quakers et al. With that, the Crown had enough of their bullshit and brought the American colonies under proper rule around the turn of 1700, and they've been mad ever since at losing their "country for God's white people".

Today's White Right conservatives probably don't even recognize their origins, since they're not very good at dealing with facts. They're raging against a world that is leaving them behind, a world that is more integrated and tolerant and secular by the day, and if their God won't give them the judgement day they've been waiting two thousand years for, then they seem hell bent on making one themselves. Fuck em all to the hell they believe in.

Shit will hit the fan and many will survive and thrive afterwards.

If it was me I'd turn the clock back to the late 50's, early 60's.

in my lifetime, 1975-1985 was the best.

Start buying dry goods and canned food.

Wouldn't hurt to buy a one or two of those barrels with 30 days of food for each of your family members.

Train with your firearms. Always keep 1000 to 2000 rounds of each caliber you have.

Buy cheap alcohol for barter and you should all have some Silver, Gold and Platinum coins and or ingots.

Ask yourself.....do I have a trade or skill that could be in demand after the shit hits the fan?

@red-bluff great advice.  I’m stocking up on the emergency food and water.  I’m not good with guns but I’m taking classes for them.  Never really liked guns and still don’t but I see the need for them.

Aside from my career and flying planes, neither of which will matter during a civil war, I’m pretty good at fixing things.

@nortyfiner interesting observations.  I think the things you describe aren’t reality but are more ideas being sold by crockpot writers like Beverly DiAngelo and Ibram Kendi.  I’ve read their books, all of it is rubbish rooted in anger, jealousy and a desire to make a buck with their $100k speaking engagements.  Not even all black people believe in it.

I remember growing up in Oakland in the 80’s and 90’s with diversity all around me and we all got along fine.  Some black kids had it better than me and I had it better than others.  Some people will say what I’m describing is atypical but the leaders of these movements like BLM and 1619 have their current state of reality based on whatever twisted shit they already have inside them.
