Nearly 11 PM in Virginia and the 49ers' first picks of 2023 are coming up soon. Most of the predictions I've seen have us taking an OL, DB and edge, in some order, and I'm OK with that. Starting this late in the draft, we're more filling in blanks than looking for immediate starters. Though I dare say the OL pick could be critical, especially if it will get us a new RT.
Titans fans among my family and friends back home right now are strongly divided about the move up to draft Levis. I'm always skeptical of trading up; I would never have made a lot of the moves I've seen GMs make in recent years. But we'll see what it comes to.
49ers traded up with the Vikings to pick 87. Welcome to the 49ers, Mr. Brown. I hope you turn out better than you looked at the combine.

With pick 99, 49ers take...a kicker!? Jake Moody, Michigan. Wow. That wasn't anywhere on my radar.

Our last pick of the night, TE Cameron Latu, Alabama. 6-4 and only 242, so he's gangly and likely to get pushed around in blocking. It's not encouraging when the prospect report includes the words "average ceiling".

The reasoning behind the kicker in the 3rd: They usually go in the fourth and we had no fourth round pick. Unlikely he's still there in the 5th. He is apparently the best kicker in the draft. So we shall see.

Four picks left, 6th and 7th rounders. What's up with OL? Kyle again not concerned with the safety of his QB?

Kyle is a moron. Every good team starts with the lines. A good OL and DL can make a team full of journeymen into Super Bowl champs.
Why do people hate our o line every year like it sucks? Banks was very good. Brendel was better than expected. Burford is learning and improving. They gave up 33 sacks, not great but not bad either. The run game was still amazing. Yeah they have to replace McGlinchey but if they like McKivitz I have confidence he will be an upgrade. Yes our QBs get hurt but none of those injuries are the line’s fault. I think the QB injuries have more to do with Jimmy being made of glass and Kyle’s stupid play design/rigid playcalling for Trey and Brock.
